August 11 UPDATE FROM AFAR
I have been back home working since the last post so have not seen Travis personally. By all reports he continues to grow stronger and healing.
He has continued to have a problem with his blood sugars even after they altered the insulin quite a lot before. Thankfully, they did further adjustments to it at clinic today.
His PIC line was pulled today - when they tried to use it yesterday for his blood work they found the other line plugged as well. I don't think they have plans to put in another at this point. If so, we had hoped the doctors would allow a trip to Calgary to get the kind that he's had for years and experienced no problems with.
The PFT's continue climbing for which we are very thankful.
The TAC was increased a bit today - he is still struggling with tremors.
Am looking forward to seeing him tomorrow - will try and get some pictures on the blog then.
Thank you for your continued interest, concern and prayers.

Well hi there, good to get an update. With the sugar problem, if your finding them too high, is it possible to work physical therapy around your meals, or your snack after your workout if it drops too much. Keep a coke or orange juice with you just incase your sugars drop too low. Diabetes is hard but you should check your sugars often so that you know where according to the different ways you feel. Stress will cause them to rise, so tray to relax and check often, and write down questions you may want to ask your doctor for the nest time you see him.
ReplyDeleteWouldn’t a trip to Calgary be nice, a chance to be at home for a bit and perhaps see your little dog for awhile. Have a great day and be well. Continued prayers for you and your family colleen g
