September 12 Resting after the game - note the knees!
September 3 Out for a walk on Grandpa & Grandma's farm
SEPTEMBER 15 EVERYTHING GOING WELL

These past couple of weeks have continued to go well - physio and OT keep raising the bar and he's feeling it! but it's so great to see what he's capable of. He again went to Ponoka for the weekend of the 5,6 and went on some great hikes.

This past weekend Trav stayed in Edmonton in order to be able to take part in the Transplant Picnic at a park here in the city. It was a beautiful day and a great chance to meet other people have gone down this road. Thanks to Jennifer from physio for organizing this event. The most amazing thing was to watch Trav play a form of baseball/football out on the field - he even did some running (note his knees!)

His PFT's rose yesterday, for which we are very thankful - they had been pretty well sitting at the 70% mark up til then. The Doctors all seemed pleased with his progress.

We are starting to prepare for discharge back home - it's so incredible to think of how far he's come but we know there's going to be Huge adjustments once he is back in Calgary.

Yesterday, a girl we had met in the last 4 weeks here got the call for her new lungs. Her surgery lasted most of last night. I just saw her parents and she is starting to respond - a special thank you to all of you who were praying (Trav made a note last night on facebook).

Words cannot express our thanks to God or to all of you who have supported us in many ways through this journey.

September 4 Walking home from hospital - looks like everyone else around - oops - guess not - the others are female

September 4 Working hard in yoga
September 4 HEADING OUT AGAIN

Dr. Weinkauf was pleased with where Trav is -he says it all looks good so we're headed down to Ponoka this afternoon after he has a nap and gets packed. Hope you all have a great weekend! Will try and get more pictures (at hopefully a better quality - think my camera was set wrong for the last few).

August 31 Great to get together, Tracy - thanks a bunch
August 30 A Wonderful brunch at Dawn's - Thanks!
September 3

Trav really enjoyed being at Ponoka for the weekend and to be with Daisy for the first time since the call came. Such a good change of scenery. On Sunday he was at Dawn's with his Mom, Grandma and Auntie June for a wonderful lunch then over to Grandma's for supper with all of them. His Mom drove him back to Edmonton Sunday night.

Monday was the usual routine - blood work, PFT's (still staying the same), physio and O.T.
Monday night we all went over to Tracy's to watch a movie. Thanks Tracy - it's so nice to have somewhere else to go sometimes. It was great to see you!

Tuesday was clinic again - the Dr. continues to be pleased with where he is at. Seems that he is getting a bit more of a handle on the insulin for the most part anyways.

Wednesday afternoon was a day spent at the computer cleaning up a lot of stuff he hasn't touched since being in Calgary and recouping. They are pushing hard at physio and O.T.

Today was another busy morning with PFT's, yoga and physio. His routine takes a long time to go through. After lunch and a nap we went and did some shopping at Southgate and Chapters. He also got started on the Farming Game this afternoon (facebook) - something new.

Progress now is definitely slower but that is to be expected. He wishes it was faster of course but muscle and stamina don't build overnight for any of us - at least that's my experience!

Tomorrow we plan to go back to Ponoka for the long weekend. Trust you all have a great one and travel safely.
