JULY 3, 2009 HURRY UP AND WAIT
Big lessons in patience...waiting for procedures. Congestion in those new lungs called for a new measure - another bronchoscopy along with further suctioning of the new lungs. Then it was the long wait (strapped to a gurney with arms outstretched) while they prepared to get ready to insert a picc line - to administer medications intravenously - a procedure not unknown to Travis.
Admittedly, patience was running thin today. The medication-induced grogginess, the weariness of days of pain, along with moments of conflicting information, meant being on the edge, emotionally.
Truth be told, it's been a valiant seven days. One week ago today started an incredible journey.
Oh, remember the elephant on his chest and the cat on the purse? - they traded places!, no, the elephant crawled off his chest, and the cat is back in the purse.
