TUESDAY, JULY 7, 2009 STAYING THE COURSE...THROUGH GREAT PAIN

There was not a lot of change today, except in small ways on some fronts. His blood sugars are a little more resolved. The pain medications were decreased, which had opposite effects - his spasms and confusion were less, but, more pain. The pain is particularly located in the back, which then makes his laps more difficult.

Today's xray was better, and the white blood cell count has dropped somewhat. His ability to communicate was a little better. For instance, just today the family found out from him that his vision has been poor.

With his better ability to communicate, he said again that this process is much more difficult than he had imagined.

  1. Travis, I would love to meet you someday!! Your Mum is an exceptionally sweet and wonderful lady, and I can see that you are quite exceptional too. Your sense of humour is totally awesome.

I would say "Courage!", but I think you all ready have plenty of that. I'm sure one can never really imagine what things like this would be like, and probably just as well too! "This too shall pass" can be your mantra, and the new lease on life will be absolutely worth it in the end.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both. You are very strong and courageous and have my total admiration.

Also a huge thank you to Cathie's sister for all her efforts to keep us all informed. They are much appreciated, and I am delighted to finally get to see this blog :-)

    Love and best wishes,
    Diana Piggott and family
